Ancient Rust

Another lovely treasury put together by sunkengardenbeads:

...this time featuring my Victorian Sci-fi necklace, the Secrets of the Beehive.

Seems to compliment a news story I read this morning quite well, about a man who just found the largest Anglo-Saxon treasure ever discovered. He's a metal detectorist- lucky! I've always wanted one of those.

I've come down with a bit of a sniffle as of last night. I could feel it creeping up on me as my housemates both have a really bad flu- and despite my best superfood/knockback efforts, they must've breathes on me at some point and now I'm infected. Going outside without a jacket last night probably didn't help things.

The worst part of this is that I might not be able to go see the Pompeii exhibition at the museum tomorrow. WAH! The best part about being sick is I get to stay home all snuggly warm with the spring rain pouring down outside. Sewing and TV, that's my prescription.

Sorry you have the sniffles. Have you tried ginger tea?

Peel and chop up some ginger. Can be coarsely chopped and use anywhere from 1inch square upwards depending on how strong you can take it. Add brown sugar (again to personal taste), 1- 2 pints water. Put in saucepan and bring to simmering point. Let it simmer for at least 20-30 mins. Let it cool a little and drink. I love the stuff and it works wonders. You can also drink it cold or chill it for iced tea - but for chills etc it's better to drink it hot.

All the quantities can be tweaked as per personal taste preferences - it's the simmering action that's the key.

so sorry you are sick! it is all hot and sunny here-still! ugh!

but wow! i love these treasuries and i love seeing your art in them! i have been so out of it in etsy land. i have let everything go to have shows in the real world which take me a ridiculous amount of time for some reason(and always had since my first show over 20 years ago-i am just ridiculously slow!).

love all these pieces and your photography as well-as always! and, i haven't forgotten about the miss havisham dolls. i was laughing at the sept. show opening because one older man saw my sleepign beauty in bed and yelled, "AH! MISS HAVISHAM!". i just busted out laughing and told him that it was sleeping beauty, but that she could be whomever he wanted her to be! and i laughed to myself because she is on the list! and because i am still daring myself to take sp's wearing my wedding dress with powder in my hair and all over my face, with a rotting cake and all of that-wee!

i so hope you can make it to the pompei exhibit! i think you will be so inspired! it is all very ancient things frozen in time. i was lucky in that i was able to go there and wow! it is all etched in my memory still.

feel better!
xo,
