Fathers Day

Yesterday was father's day in Australia, so my brother and I drove down to have lunch with our male parental unit.

On the way back there was a pocket storm- just in one big fat cloud over our car.

Sudden and intense, the storm lasted only a few minutes. I like storms, and I love being in the car when it's raining.

Dad's house is filled with amazing things- some of you have seen his shed, but his house is where all the stuff that's too good to keep in the shed is kept. Antique books, furniture, games, toys...

If you ever wonder 'where I got it from'...this is the place.
And I think that blue and gold book up there gives a mantra for us all! It's certainly my theme this week.

Wonderful photos! The trees in the storm behind rainy windows have such a delightfully Gothic look.
Your father's house looks amazing as well. I love when you post photos of his treasures. You both have excellent taste in collecting!

I'm always thinking we should clear out some of our clutter, and then I read a lovely post like this and it makes me realise how good it is to have 'stuff'!

I dont know how to say. I like your blog, your photos, your creations. But I prefered your first textil creations ; they gave me an emotion, the sense of passed time Your blog was a personal world. I think that saying it was perhaps the opportunity to see again some of them?..........
Please, forgive me.
3 months ago, I have given the address of your blog to a person who was near of you. and now, it seems not so near.
difficult to say. This blog is in french, but you can see the photos album (right) and perhaps discover a forgotten sister in spirit..........Anne

Both sets of photos look great. Those storm shots are so ominous and mysterious. And I would love to have a walk through your dad's place.

Gipsea- I certainly inherited my Dad's passion for victorian rubbish!

jackie- I know, it makes hoarding look like the best thing ever when everything hoarded is beautiful.

Anon- it's hard to make out what you mean as the translation is a little wonky, but I haven't forgotten the theme of time passing. In fact you reminded me of something I've been meaning to talk about for a while, thank you!

fanci- I usually either brace myself with the camera strap, rest my arm somewhere or otherwise pin myself into a solid position- I am a human tripod!

Seth- Dad's house is great to wander through. I'm a polite child who doesn't open drawers but I know they hide the tiniest and most awesome things! Next time I go I hope to shoot his collection of wunderkrammer boxes...
