The only treats for me now are Treasury-flavoured!

...featuring The Highwayman earrings:

All About Buttons....

And You've gotta See This!: Vol 53....

...both featuring Milkweed in the meadow.

I just can't get over how many treasuries I've been appearing in lately, this really is so wonderful...

I'm enjoying being in the city already and it's only been a day! If only I hadn't left my camera batteries at home, I could have lots of lovely pictures of the gorgeous carved 19th century oak spice rack I wanted ($550- but seriously, it was like something out of Harry Potter!) and the massive wodge of flourless orange cake that I had for afternoon tea.

Probably shouldn't have had it- I went to the doctors last week and I have astronomical cholesterol -or as I call it; 'klestroll'. I now have to cut back on all the good things in the culinary world. No more cakes, pies, pastries, full-cream milk, butter, cheese.... *cries* It's really hard to take one's Klestroll into account when organising a Wind in the Willows style picnic on the riverbank. All those old-fashioned English foods are chocked with the mean stuff!

(my favourite book of all time, incidentally- and a constant inspiration. This is a beautiful cover, though why Badger is wearing a Weasley jumper is anyone's guess...)

It struck me as odd, because I really do have a good diet- I cook all my meals from scratch, I get plenty of veg, I only eat brown pasta/bread/rice... doesn't make sense. It's possible I have a hereditary high Klestroll level. It could also be stress-related; my body doesn't deal with stress very well at all; something that an 'ordinary' person would consider 'a bit of a bother' is to my mind/body, cause for a critical A grade meltdown. It's very hard to keep calm though when you're an Aries full of ideas! (If only I had my Taurean slaves to do the actual physical labour...)

Anyway- here's a lovely picture of a bracelet that's going in the shop soon.

More experimentation with combining chain and textile pieces.

I'd planned to update with a large dose of brooches this weekend, but I was running late for the train (story of my life) and forgot to bring my sewing bag with me. D: So no brooches till next weekend. Apologies to those who are waiting on the sidelines with lasso in hand! They sure do go fast...

Hi there Little Brown Sparrow. I read that your cholesterol is out of whack,... and here is the secret... cholesterol is not caused by eating foods high in cholesterol, it is caused by inflamation in your veins, which is caused by a number of things, including grains (whole wheat pasta, etc.) and sugars. There are others,... Dr. Sears has a new book out, "Toxic Fat", he is the author of The Zone. I have the same prob. and this is a revelation, just realized anew, and not yet absorbed by physicians. Research it darling, it could help!

Just wanted to say how sorry I am about your klestrol ~ seems like good advice from anonymous. I hope you can get to grips with it. Sugar seems to be one of the worst offenders.
Also I wanted to say that Wind in the Willows is my all time fav too. I have the story on BBC cd read by Alan Bennett. Read beautifully by Alan, the story is even more charming, if that's poss.
I do enjoy your blog so much, always an inspiration and congrats on your Treasuryness.

Congratulations on the great exposure--quite a compliment!

I just read Wind in the Willows for the first time about a year ago and it has become one of my favorites as well.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful work. (Sorry about your klestroll...)

So many lovely things! I love this new piece too! Sorry about your klestroll. It must be heriditary. I had a friend who ate nothing but greens and salad and her's was sky high which seemed ridiculous. My dad is a big athelete and eats nothing but fish and greens, has a very low blood pressure, but for some reason has to watch his cholestrol-boo! So not fun-especially since this Wind in the Willows picnic sounds like so much fun! That has always been one of my favourite books!
take care,
merle
