Shop update and shiny things

The black dog has been at my door, and though I haven't really been affected by him, it has taken all my energy not to do so.

But I keep fighting, because unless you're fighting, you're giving in, and that ain't my scene. I've had enough energy to make things and list things, and even that has taken some uphill work, but it's all a part of the great battle against the mind that artists will always wage.

I did give myself a treat yesterday and went to the thrift shop, where my wallet was distressed to find it one of the best haul days for ages. Amongst the 'it's for the shop!' haul was a big bunch of Indian bangles, most of which are to be hammered into lovely rich earrings like the ones above.

For the record, I scored the red brass tray underneath yesterday as well- and as soon as I get around to getting some tin snips, I'll be making it into jewelry too! Nothing escapes the hammer.

Avoiding that dog shows your amazing strength, good one you ;-) You jewellery is fabulous and I'm intriuged with what you're doing to those bracelets. Well done, keep hammering.♥

Love the hammered hoop earrings. The old black dog has been hanging round here of late too, followed me home and thinks I'm going to feed him.

how can it be- such joyful beautiful things emerging from the same place as the black dog? i do think the 2 are related, however- the mad mind, the connection to the underlying subconscious universe of creation...
whatever. im loving the new things!!!

I think that's part of how I fight it, to make more effort to produce beautiful things in the hope that the balance will be set. I know when I was doing all that bleak and dismal Victorian stuff I succumbed to depression a lot easier. Working with rich colours and ornate patterns seems to be an antidote. Makes alot of sense.

Exactly. I have to listen to comedians and work with color to combat those misfiring synopsis's.

I could seriously collect trays like I do boxes. That one is beautiful.
