Pause mode

I've put the shop on a small vacation while I take time out for myself to get my head clear. I've not been feeling the best lately and it's abundantly clear that I need some time away from the shop to pay attention to my own needs. Originally I had a notion to just make note of a shipping delay- but since that wouldn't really give me a break from all the other aspects of the business, it seemed a bit pointless.

I'll still be around, thinking about art and looking at other people's art (and showing you) and making a few little things for myself - my wardrobe has suffered greatly since I started Etsy! I never have time, attention or money for me- and that's part of the problem. I've ignored so many of my needs over the last 3 years and it's taken it's toll. I've got to take some time to get re-acquainted with myself.

Why is it we do that, ignore our own needs or do without while constantly making sure others' are satisfied?

Take care of yourself.

3 years? Well, it's about time you found some time for yourself.
Have a restful sabbatical!

Oh, I know exactly how you feel right now. I can't afford to close my shops, though I was still hoping this month might be slow so I could have some time for new projects and ME projects, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. :(
Enjoy your sabbatical!

Good for you! On a 'real job' we'd be forced to go home at the end of the day and stay home a couple of days a week. But we self-employed people seem to work around the clock, seven days a week.
I've taken a couple of breaks myself and returned to my business with renewed energy and fresh eyes.
Hope the same will happen for you.
Have a wonderful, well-deserved break!

Never believed until I started what people said about a home business taking up so much of your time and being less liberating in some ways than working outside of the home. Glad you hear you know when it is time for rest and are hopefully getting some! Look forward to your return though!
